Community College Scholarship Program
This is a pilot program aimed at supporting the STEM pipeline and strengthen underrepresented minority participation in STEM. As a pilot program the number of awards will be limited and will require NMSGC affiliate community college students to work with a mentor at their home institutions and a mentor at a four-year university to ensure continuity of the higher education path. Scholarship funding: $1,000 per semester for up to two semesters.
Eligibility requirements for community college students are: U.S. citizenship, at least half-time enrollment, minimum GPA 3.0, completion of or enrollment in 9 or more semester hours or credits of STEM coursework. Current high school and dual-credit students are not eligible to apply.
The application period will be open from January 18 to April 5, 2021. Funding will be for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
